About Us

Owned and operated by a husband/wife duo, KINESIS is the alternative to conventional physical therapy and training. The business was founded on the owners’ life practices and passions. This facility and its approach to rehab and training supersedes the outdated models.

“Kayleen and I were both scholarship college athletes.  We got to that level with passion and grit, and some help from others along the way.  These were guiding principles behind the founding of KINESIS.  We understand people work hard for their money, in their sports, for their health, and deserve the same effort reciprocated from their health professionals.”

For many of us, sports and exercise can become more of a lifestyle than just hobbies. They can serve as an outlet for stress, help us find inner peace, challenge us to persevere, build our confidence, and give us a sense of community. Unfortunately, injuries and decreased fitness levels can appear to rob us of these experiences. We understand how frustrating and overwhelming this can be. But this doesn’t have to be the end of the story.  We’re here to help you overcome these obstacles and continue doing the sports and activities you love to do.

Our Core Values direct our business and shape its vision.

IF YOU ALIGN WITH THESE, YOU HAVE FOUND THE RIGHT PLACE.

KINESIOLOGIST

BS Exercise Science, PN1, MCS, FMS

The first time I designed a strength and conditioning program I was seven years old. I was a competitive gymnast passionate about performing at my highest potential. My drive for personal excellence academically and athletically continued into college as a track and field athlete studying exercise science.

That tiny spark of interest at seven years old, grew over the course of my life and education into a passion. And I have used that passion coupled with education to develop my career. I’ve been on this journey for a while and have had great experiences and education along the way. I’ve worked with a range of clientele from Olympic, professional, collegiate and youth athletes to weekend warriors, soccer moms, and grandparents who just want to stay healthy and active.

If you’re exercising ONLY for a “beach bod” and want a trainer to crush you every day, you will find yourself let down and disappointed. The greatest changes clients make are not physical, but mental. They develop command of their bodies, discipline, determination, and confidence in themselves. This leads to lifestyle changes, which ultimately result in physical adaptations.

Additionally, you are not just changing your life, but you are changing mine as well. Every client becomes more than just a customer. They become family. The relationships I build with my clients are what I treasure most.

Thank you to all of my current clients for making my job meaningful! And to prospective clients...I look forward to starting a new journey with you!

KINESIO DOCTOR

I started working in the field of sports performance in 2009 and PT in 2014, but sports, exercise, and helping others have been passions my entire life. I’m blessed to be able to do something I truly love for a living.

I earned a doctorate in physical therapy from GVSU and entered practice as a PT in 2014. After 5 years of practice, countless hours of continuing education, becoming a board certified sports specialist, and multiple other certifications, I knew I had to make a change. I had groomed myself to help athletes, and people in general, not just recover from injuries/surgeries, but fix how they move, to get them back to doing what they love better than before!

When I work with my clients, it is truly a TEAM EFFORT. I think of myself as the coach. I can tell them what to do, but ultimately, it is their responsibility to put in the work and commit to getting better. Quick fixes are like magic wands- they don’t exist. Getting to the root of the problem takes commitment and dedication on the part of the client.

Sports/Activities I LOVE to do: Snowboarding, Running, Calesthenics/gymnastics/acro type exercise, Skiing, Hiking, Wake boarding, Mountain biking, Volleyball (really any sport I can get people to play with me), Resistance Training…
